In 2012, he relocated to Canada to pursue a Master of Science (MS) in Soil Science at the University of Manitoba. Subsequently, he achieved a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Waterloo. For his doctoral research, he extensively investigated runoff generation and nutrient transport within tile-drained agricultural landscapes in the Red River Valley. Presently, Dr. Vivekananthan serves as a Research Associate at the University of Guelph, where his work revolves around delving into soil phosphorus dynamics and optimizing fertilizer application strategies. He is deeply engrossed in tracking phosphorus solubility and migration through the unsaturated zone, showcasing his profound passion and expertise in vadose zone hydrology and nutrient dynamics within agricultural contexts.

Teaching Seminar: Rooted in Moisture: The Essential Link between Soil Water Retention and Plant Health

September 7, 10:00-11:00am, McM 258, 2357 Main Mall

Zoom link (registration required): https://ubc.zoom.us/meeting/register/u5wvcuirqDwqG9Viw5ed3iP9as1VSAw2Rrab

Research Seminar: Cultivating Environmentally Friendly Nutrient Management for Agricultural Resilience

September 8, 9:30-11:00am, SWNG 205 – 2175 West Mall

Zoom link (registration required): https://ubc.zoom.us/meeting/register/u5Iqcuuvrj4pGdDhT3CrpNNWzV06cN3M50tU

Feedback Form: https://ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3EG68ZHObHg81lc

Dr. Amir Haghverdi, Associate Professor of Agricultural and Urban Water Management, University of California Riverside

Dr. Amir Haghverdi is an Associate Professor of Agricultural and Urban Water Management in the Environmental Sciences Department at the University of California Riverside.
