# Summary of what is happening.<\/strong><\/p>\n

## Dates<\/strong><\/p>\n

Starting Oct 2, 2023, students will be presented with an MFA sign-up prompt on every CWL login until enrolled (\u201dnag screen\u201d).<\/p>\n

Oct 24-25, 2023 is the Final enrollment pop-ups on campus before MFA is mandatory starting Nov 1, 2023.<\/p>\n

On Jan, 2024, MFA is enabled for Canvas and VPN access.<\/p>\n

## Who will be Challenged<\/strong><\/p>\n

Only active students including student employees and volunteers will be challenged with MFA. This does not include applicants, alumni or non-credit learners.<\/p>\n

Students will be challenged when they login to any UBC application that uses CWL authentication from off-campus or when they are connecting to the UBC VPN.<\/p>\n

Students will not be challenged when on-campus or when logging in to systems that do not use CWL authentication.<\/p>\n
