New International Nutrition Major – starts September 2013

The Faculty of Land and Food Systems is excited to announce the launch of the International Nutrition Major at The University of British Columbia.

This new major will provide students with a solid background in human nutrition with a strong emphasis on application in international settings. Students will focus on fundamental and specialized Food, Nutrition and Health courses, as well as on an International Nutrition Field Studies course (FNH 460) where they will integrate both theory and practice.

The International Nutrition major puts UBC at the forefront, as it is the only undergraduate International Nutrition program in North America. The uniqueness of this major is that it will offer students field experience as well as specialized coursework in International Nutrition and development, better preparing them for future employment or graduate work.

Our International Nutrition students are currently working in Rwanda, Zambia, Cameroon, Cambodia and Laos with UNICEF and other international organizations focused on food security and nutrition.
