Vancouver Coastal Health volunteers needed – 2 programs

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) – Community is looking for volunteers for 2 of their programs: Shop by Phone and Assisted Group Shopping programs!

The Shop by Phone Program assists home-bound seniors and disabled adults to remain independent with assistance with their weekly grocery orders! As a volunteer, you will be trained to receive grocery orders by program clients over the phone and shop at one of 3 Safeway locations for that client – grocery orders are delivered via Safeway’s home delivery service.

The Assisted Group Shopping Program assists home-bound seniors and disabled adults to also remain independent by helping them with their personal shopping and/or groceries at Oakridge Mall. Volunteers are pre-matched with clients and help with their shopping and socialize with the clients. After shopping, groups head back to the Oakridge Seniors Centre to have lunch or coffee together with other volunteers and seniors (volunteers are responsible for their own lunch).

Interested in one or both of these programs? Check out the volunteer descriptions above. If you are interested, have questions or require more info, please contact Jan Russell at 604-301-3886 or at jan.russell@vch.ca
