Global Dialogue Series on “Sustainably Feeding 9 Billion” – Feb 4

Peter Wall International Visiting Research Scholar Talk featuring Evan Fraser, Visiting Professor, Tier I Canada Research Chair in Global Food Security
Wed, February 4, 2015
12:00pm – 2:00pm
Liu Institute for Global Issues – Multipurpose Room

Most commentators agree that population growth, energy prices, and climate change threaten food security. But few agree on the best strategies to tackle this problem with some promoting “high tech” solutions such as genetically modified crops while others suggest that the solution may be found in small scale local farming systems.

In this talk, Dr. Evan Fraser will draw on his experiences from around the world to shed light on strategies and options for how to sustainably feed nine billion people.

This talk is also part of the UBC Future of Food Global Dialogue Series.
