URO Research Involvement Fair (RIF) | Jan 31, 2017

Undergraduate Research Opportunities (URO) is holding a research recruitment event called Research Involvement Fair (RIF) on Tuesday, January 31st from 5pm-8pm (you may come for a 2 hour window or longer) in the SWNG Building (2175 West Mall). This event pairs interested faculty and committed undergraduate students in a “speed dating” format. We will screen hundreds of interested undergraduate applicants for you and pick out the ones with the most commitment, research experience, interest, and enthusiasm. We will then pair them up with you in one-on-one 10 minute interviews, where you can select your favourite research student.

This event is beneficial for both students and faculty as it provides a platform for students to practice interview skills and allows PIs to meet a large number of interested students in a 2-hour period (around 10 students). Further progression to volunteering, NSERC applications, Work Learn applications, SSRP applications, or other grants is at the discretion of the PI and the student.
