Help, Learn & Discover is an organization which offers 28-day long
\neducational and volunteer programs in Ecuador, South America. These
\nprograms are three-fold and provide students with the opportunity to
\nHelp those less fortunate, Learn about and gain firsthand experience
\nin a specific academic area of interest, and Discover the diverse
\nterrains of Ecuador during a tour of the country. Help, Learn &
\nDiscover currently offers three programs: Pre-Medical, Bio-Medical and
\nVolunteer.<\/p>\n
HELP<\/p>\n
Each program contains a common volunteer component which enables
\nstudents to offer help to communities in rural villages of Ecuador.
\nStudents fundraise in Canada and the United States and then travel to
\nEcuador in the summer to participate in a specific large-scale
\nvolunteer project. This year approximately 150 students will travel to
\nEcuador over a five-month period and help finance and build homes for
\nunderprivileged families in a rural Ecuadorian village. This rewarding
\nexperience will require students to take active roles in the
\nconstruction of the project. Students work alongside local families
\nand are able to watch the homes grow and become an integral part of
\nthe community.<\/p>\n
LEARN<\/p>\n
The Pre-Medical program is ideal for those interested in a future
\ncareer in health-care. Students work alongside in observation with
\nleading surgeons and other health-care professionals, shadowing
\nthrough eight different wards within a hospital setting. This program
\nis ideal whether you\u2019re certain that you want to become a doctor,
\nexploring the idea or just curious about medicine and health care. In
\nthe Bio-Medical program students enjoy a combination of the pre-
\nmedical program with a week discovering the unique species and
\necosystems of the enchanted Galapagos Islands. Finally, with the
\nVolunteer program students will use their extra week to work further
\nwith the community to help develop their homes and learn about their
\nculture.<\/p>\n
DISCOVER<\/p>\n
To conclude this amazing journey, students will tour through the
\njungles, rainforest, and coastal beaches of Ecuador, testing their
\nlimits with activities such as hiking, bungee jumping, paragliding and
\nsurfing. In turn, students will discover more about themselves while
\nlearning all this beautiful and exciting country has to offer.<\/p>\n

\nWe are seeking motivated, hard-working and compassionate
\ncollege\/university students, or recent graduates, to join our team.
\nDue to the increasing popularity of the programs, in addition to
\ncompleting an on-line application, students must participate in a
\nshort interview in order to be considered for admission. Apply early
\nand get ready for the adventure of a lifetime! Ability to read or
\nspeak Spanish is NOT a requirement. Our early bird application
