In this role, Joel helps lead the company\u2019s communication efforts, including managing OSF\u2019s day-to-day communications activities, engaging in consumer and media relations, handling social media activities, and drafting the company\u2019s marketing and educational materials.<\/p>\n<p>To date, OSF\u2019s chief focus has been developing and securing regulatory approval for Arctic\u00ae apples, which were commercially approved in March 2015 after years of rigorous review. Arctic\u00ae apples are varieties that, through genetic engineering, are enhanced with a nonbrowning trait that prevents enzymatic browning from occurring when the fruit is bitten, sliced or bruised.<\/p>\n<p><em>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ubc.us3.list-manage2.com\/track\/click?u=820ba5406ce97ad5bc671f983&amp;id=cfec7cbdce&amp;e=d764435808\">Food &amp; Agribusiness Speaker\u00a0Series<\/a>\u00a0provides students with the opportunity to interact with key industry experts from the food and agribusiness sector and hear them speak about their company, food &amp; agribusiness expertise, industry opportunities &amp; trends and the challenges running an Agri-Food entrepreneurial business.
