The Emergency Medical Aid Team is a leadership program made up of trained UBC students dedicated to making the University community an even safer place.All team members are certified in Standard First Aid by the Canadian Red Cross. Team members regularly practice their skills with ongoing, weekly training. EMAT is part of Student Health Service’s outreach program, which also includes the Wellness Centre and Peer Wellness Coaching.EMAT Responders help enhance campus well-being by providing first aid coverage and emergency care at various events across the UBC-Vancouver community. In addition, EMAT holds outreach events and training sessions in order to educate the UBC community on health, safety, and emergency preparedness. EMAT is one of the key components of the wellness outreach of UBC Student Health Service, and works closely in partnership with campus partners. EMAT\u2019s focus on injury prevention and emergency care assists individuals in remaining fully functioning within the campus community.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
