{"id":6618,"date":"2017-02-15T10:27:51","date_gmt":"2017-02-15T17:27:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsundergrads\/?p=6618"},"modified":"2017-02-15T10:27:51","modified_gmt":"2017-02-15T17:27:51","slug":"mission-impulseible-food-development-competition-deadline-mar-28-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsundergrads\/2017\/02\/15\/mission-impulseible-food-development-competition-deadline-mar-28-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Mission Impulseible Food Development Competition &#8211; deadline Mar 28, 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Pulse Canada will be sponsoring the<strong> Mission Impulseible food development competition<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">The theme this year is:<\/span>\u00a0 \u201c<i><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Create an innovative pulse-based food product targeted to Millennial consumers that qualifies for the use of the Pulse Brand.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">The Pulse Brand is a symbol that will help consumers around the world identify food products that contain pulse ingredients.\u00a0 For a product to qualify for the Pulse Brand, the pulse ingredients must be in the top 5 ingredients by weight and must make up at least of 5% of the total formulation by weight.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">The requirements are:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Develop an innovative food product containing pulses<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Write a brief report about your product and develop a 2-minute video commercial<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Pitch your product to a panel of judges at your regional competition<\/p>\n<p><i><span lang=\"EN-CA\">CASH PRIZES FOR\u00a0 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 3<sup>rd<\/sup> place &#8211; $500\/ $300\/ $200<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Registration deadline for teams is\u00a0<strong>March 28<\/strong>.\u00a0 The competition will be held either on \u00a0May 19 or June 3<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Please respond ASAP to \u00a0<a href=\"mailto:Christine.scaman@ubc.ca\">Christine.scaman@ubc.ca<\/a> indicating your interested in participating in the\u00a0 competition and if you would NOT able to attend the competition on one of the dates<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pulse Canada will be sponsoring the Mission Impulseible food development competition.
