The\u00a0MFRE speaker series<\/a> is a professional development program designed to show a glimpse into the complexities of \u2018real world\u2019 food and resource economics issues. The next featured speaker is Lon LaClaire, Director, Transportation at the City of Vancouver. Lon oversees all aspects of transportation, including planning, design, engagement, traffic and parking management. Lon has worked for the City for about 20 years. He started his career by designing bikeways and traffic calming and quickly moved on to work on the City\u2019s newest rapid transit lines \u2013 the Millennium and Canada SkyTrain Lines. He was a key contributor to the two most recent, award-winning, long-range transportation plans \u2013 the Downtown Transportation Plan and the City\u2019s Transportation 2040 plan. Before moving into the Director role, Lon managed the City of Vancouver\u2019s Strategic Transportation Planning Branch for a number of years. <\/span><\/p>\n

The seminar will take place on Friday, March 1 at 3:30pm in MCML 160. All are welcome to attend!<\/span><\/p>\n
