The project itself helped me develop my research skills as well as increased my knowledge for video projects. I liked how we had to incorporate what we were learning in lectures into our project. This made it easier for me to understand how to use marketing concepts and different approaches. I also really enjoyed analyzing and creating a marketing plan for the specific company we chose. It made everything that we learned in class come to real life in a way because we had to research into the company and find data which would help us apply marketing concepts and create recommendations and critiques for the company. Sometimes I found the instructions and criteria for the video project a little bit too general, and we had to just guess what was expected of us. At the same time, the limited guidance allowed teams to diversify their videos and be very flexible with what material we provided. This made every team’s video unique in their own way and it seems like every team used different creative ideas for their films so that no overlaps appeared.
I enjoyed working with my team- I thought we all got along very well and every one contributed to the project equally which wasn’t an issue. It was interesting to find out the weaknesses and strengths of each team member and I learned interesting characteristics, skills, and facts about each team member through the project.
The fact that we had to write peer reviews for each other, didn’t affect the way I worked or what work I produced. I think peer reviews are a great way to receive lots of feedback from many people which provides different perspectives of the same work you produced. It can be interesting to learn how people perceive the same work differently. Looking back at the reviews, my team’s film received, the majority of our feedback is fair and reasonable and be taken for future projects.
