Meena: I chose this image to highlight Junior making his first friend Gordy at Reardan High School. The picture shows how Junior was determined to make Gordy realize how much they had in common and the fact that Junior is an ‘Indian’ should not prevent Gordy from becoming his friend.
The next few images I found was to illustrate Junior’s primary modes of transportation in getting to Reardan High School. Firstly, Junior would mainly hitch hike since Junior’s family often did not have enough gas money or their car would break down. At other times, Junior had to resort to walking the many miles to make it to school.
The last image I wanted to select for these chapters was to show Junior’s sister sending an email about her move to Montana and sharing about her fabulous new life with her husband.
