Depends on what I knew of the child. If they were sincere I would not mark it but give them help and let them try again. If it was a child that I knew, knew better and was having fun with the instructions I would give them full marks on creativity but a failing mark on the activity until they resubmitted it.

The instructions in the question tells the student to “name” the quadrilateral. I would mark the assignment as it should be marked giving the student a zero. However, as this looks like a homework assignment, which is a type of assignment that wouldn’t affect a student too much in a sense. I would first talk to the student and help them go over what types of notes we’ve taken in class. Make sure that his notes align with what the teacher explained–maybe its a title issue–maybe the student forgot to put above all the squares and rectangle definitions in their notes “Names of Quadrilaterals”. and most certainly, this assignment deserves a second chance at it if the student happens to be an English Language Learner.
