Maas<\/a>,\u00a0mentioned a website for novice writers &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fictionpress.com\">Fictionpress<\/a>.\u00a0Fictionpress is a nonprofit, free site for\u00a0people who write original stories as a hobby but have no interest &#8211; or at least initially in getting them published.\u00a0Users can upload their stories and poems or review stories and poems by other writers on the site. Maas\u00a0was on\u00a0Fictionpress before she published her novel, <em>Throne of Glass<\/em>. Originally\u00a0Maas\u00a0posted the\u00a0novel (chapter by chapter)\u00a0with no intention of publishing but then recieved tremendous feedback from people all over the work &#8211; positive, critical and some negative &#8211; and decided to remove her novel from the site and polish it for querying and ultimately publishing.\u00a0In the case of Fictionpress, the site provides a common space for writers to interact &#8211; either anonymously or by name &#8211; and receive feedback on their work without the pressure of actual publication.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/wickedscribes.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/04\/throne-of-glass.jpg?w=510\" alt=\"\" width=\"165\" height=\"251\" \/><\/p>\n<p>-Kiran Heer<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ironically while looking for examples of social media sites to post on the blog, I was on Facebook and one of my\u00a0fellow writers and bloggers, Sarah J.
