Mise-en-Scene: Jackie

Title: Jackie

Year: 2016

Director: Pablo Larrain

Synopsis: In the week following the death of her husband, President John F. Kennedy, Jackie is determined to craft a legacy for JFK’s life and presidency. The film follows jJackie through their early days in the White House, the notorious assassination and the transition to the Johnson presidency.

Rationale: This was a clear choice for me, given my affinity for biopics and all thingsĀ Kennedy, but what struck me about the scene I will present is how I overlooked an obvious experience Jackie would have had following her husband’s murder. It is the scene in the film that gave/gives me chills.
