PROXY POEM

Colours of the rainbow fill the sky

Not a feeling in this world could top this high

Where once a world filled with helplessness and abuse

Now stands a mountain in front of me with endless possibilities

Memories of you used haunt me

Endless fear that your words would cut me deeper

An overwhelming feeling of emotion

You crushed my soul, broke my heart and played games with my mind

Oh, how I used to be so naive

Hanging on to very empty promise of yours with first my first clenched so tightly

Hoping for a better tomorrow

But reality sank in, I could no longer live this life

Your nothing but a sack of garbage, the scum on the bottom of my shoe

For this is the time that I stand up for myself and seal my destiny

Colours of the rainbow fill the sky

Not a feeling in this world could top this high

Now stands a mountain in front of me with endless possibilities

REMIX RENGA POEM

The hugest beast sat alongside his buddy

And it all became suddenly crystal clear

He found the absolutely beautiful meaning of the pile of rotting brussel sprouts that is life.

Tossed into the compost with even a second thought, for the racoons to enjoy in the evening.

Life can be shitty!

Nevertheless, it goes on.

But nothing goes on at the temperamental UBC warehouse of the mind- neither upside down nor inside out. Found itself in the middle of stacks of whiskey bottles who awaited to their promises.

“I’m bloody wasted” they shouted.

More wasted than garbage From last week!

Favourite Place to Be

Favourite Place to Be

I’ve traveled the world

And there’s many more places I’d still like to see.

I’m sitting here wondering, whats the one place that really resonates with me?

Is it the Burnaby mountain view top? Where I feel isolated and at peace?

Or is it a beach where the endless water makes me feel so tiny yet complete?

Could it be up in the clouds, closer my angels that constantly surround me?

I sit here and ponder, whats my favourite place to be?

Where do I feel peace, clarity and security?

And then all of a sudden it comes to me

Wrapped in your arms, is the only place I want to be.

By Tejinder Rai

Where would we be without eachother, you help me see.
Without you, you have no idea how lost we would be.
You rest on my nose ever so lightly, you help me see the world even more brightly.
Without you I’d so lost, I will try not to lose you at any cost!
