\nBut at least you\u2019re learning useful things at school,
\nEven got a new curriculum:
\nEnglish
\nMath
\nScience
\nSocials
\nP.E.
\nCareer Prep<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the New Curriculum.
\nMeet the new boss, same as the old boss.<\/p>\n

New Math:
\nQuadratics, trigonometry, graphing\u2026
\nGod forbid we learn how to budget,
\nCuz the debt crisis didn\u2019t come from nowhere.<\/p>\n

New English:
\nNovels, poems, dead people\u2026
\nAll necessary to succeed in life,
\nCuz who can really live without that drama?<\/p>\n

New Science:
\nPeriodic table, body parts and physics math\u2026
\nAll fascinating information at parties,
\nCuz ya know everybody remembers it all.<\/p>\n

New Socials:
\nAncient civilizations & Old-Canada
\nDon\u2019t get too bored or you might miss something,
\nCuz all this relates to your life somehow.<\/p>\n

So in a world full of problems
\nHow about a curriculum that relates to our lives<\/p>\n

Day 1 Block 1: Climate Change & Sustainability
\nCuz this is not a debate. It\u2019s a fact!
\nCan we survive like this? Well, can WE survive like this?!<\/p>\n

Block 2: Medicine and mental health
\nCuz one in five of you will suffer depression,
\nAnd anxiety and suicide are pretty bad too.<\/p>\n

Block 3: Waste & water management
\nCuz that land fill ain\u2019t gettin\u2019 any smaller,
\nAnd the Exon Valdez spills every year in the tar sands.<\/p>\n

Block 4: Democracy, Law and Politics
\nCuz how many of us voted last election,
\nAnd NAFTA lets gas companies put nerve toxin in gas.<\/p>\n

Day 2:<\/p>\n

Block 1: Computers & Programming
\nCuz they run your lives,
\nAnd most of you don\u2019t have a clue how.<\/p>\n

Block 2: Racism & Oppression
\nCuz most of the world deals with this problem
\nAnd Aboriginal people live what kind of lives?<\/p>\n

Block 3: Equity and Equality
\nCuz one is not the other,
\nAnd ladies make how much less money?<\/p>\n

Block 4: Engineering
\nCuz you drove here in something, you live in a building
\nAnd you should know something about them.<\/p>\n

And anybody tell you that I missed poetry\u2026
\nWe in here talking about poetry.
\nI mean, listen, we talking about poetry
