Knowledge mobilization is often framed as a strategy for the academic community to descend the “ivory tower” and engage with wider communities. But is the ivory tower of academia really so tall that we still haven’t made it to the ground or are we just moving too slowly?
In this workshop we will work through what knowledge mobilization means to us as emerging academics and to the communities we work with. We will consider a variety of ways of connecting with community partners in person or using digital media and will prepare for challenges that might arise on the path of community-engaged knowledge mobilization.
