The Language and Literacy Education Department (LLED) welcomes you to this important conference on mobilizing knowledge in education.
As a Department concerned with the study and teaching of human communication across languages, cultures, and contexts, we are deeply committed to breaking down the walls of the academy in order to put knowledge to work in the world. Universities have been rightly criticized for remaining aloof from society, but LLED sees knowledge mobilization as an ethical responsibility: we are supported by public funding, and we need to repay that generosity.
