Hate

The new and improved poem:

Hate

is a

giant word that

is intricate and full.

When I was rather little

this word, banned from my vocabulary,

made me question and ponder its meaning.

I didn’t look far to find it expressed:

in the news, at my school, in my home.

A four letter word so modest and yet so strong…

A girl so young could not know this word’s true impact.

I find myself thankful for the wisdom of my mother: banning hate.
