I got the idea for One Thing I Learned… at the end of my first semester in my MLIS program but I knew I was going to be taking a course in the summer semester that required me to create a blog so I put off the creation of this blog until now. Now I am happy to begin my experiment with this personal/professional/educational tool. The main purpose of this blog is to be a space for reflections on my learning journey through library school and related activities. My secondary purpose to to meet the blog requirements for the course LIBR 559M Social Media for Information Professionals.
I have great ideas of making regular postings for at the very least the rest of my time at library school but looking at the many started but unfilled journals and diaries on my shelf, I reserve the right to fall off the wagon once in a while.
Educational Background (so you know I actually have some idea what I’m talking about):
Currently working on my MLIS at UBC in Vancouver, British Columbia.
BA, Major in Criminology from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Also an active student in the school of life.
