I was excited joining Twitter as I can get offers and promotions updates instantly, but it is not as effective as I thought so far. Reasons are: some posts are like spam, I lose track of what i m reading or what I want to read. All the tweets I follow are offering almost the similar news updates (except restaurants).<\/p>\n<p>While I was reading the article on Business Insider <a title=\"McDonalds strategies success\" href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/mcdonalds-strategies-success-2011-12\" target=\"_blank\">McDonald global strategies<\/a>\u00a0on how McDonalds plan to take over the world.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #333333; font-style: normal; line-height: 20px;\">It begs the questions in my mind on h<\/span><strong style=\"color: #333333; font-style: normal; line-height: 20px;\">ow Twitter should take over the world.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Twitter\" src=\"http:\/\/tweepi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/t12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"371\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #333333; font-style: normal; line-height: 20px;\"><\/strong><span style=\"color: #333333; font-style: normal; line-height: 20px;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333; font-style: normal; line-height: 20px;\">&#8220;McDonald is a powerful brand and sheer size are two big, dependable advantages that if can always lean on. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">B<span>ut just being McDonald&#8217;s isn&#8217;t enough<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span> \u2014 it&#8217;s doing a lot, domestically and globally, to stay ahead.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/static6.businessinsider.com\/image\/4f5a23d5eab8ea5756000039\/mcdonalds-french-fries.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Fries\" src=\"http:\/\/static6.businessinsider.com\/image\/4f5a23d5eab8ea5756000039\/mcdonalds-french-fries.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here are ten strategies that are keeping McDonald&#8217;s barreling forward:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Focus heavily on emerging market (africa, middle east, china)<\/li>\n<li>McCafe, the brand extension<\/li>\n<li>Offering wider variety of food to attract more segments i.e. oatmeal breakfast instead of high calorie breakfast, salad instead of fries.<\/li>\n<li>Delivery food to customers in places that demand it.<\/li>\n<li>Making store more attractive &#8211; they are on the edge of trying out &#8220;Less is More&#8221; concept design, and offer free-wifi.<\/li>\n<li>Increase on snack items menu (dessert, wraps, cheaper ala carte)<\/li>\n<li>Shortening menu cycle &#8211; seasonal food menus i.e St.Patricks mint shakes, or McRibs, Caramel McFlurry<\/li>\n<li>Importing successful niche products global. Fancy having McDeluxe Sandwich, or Chicken Nuggets with Curry sauce dips. This is potentially risky and ROI can be low, yet they are adapting with the smaller-one-global-world trend which could lead to success.<\/li>\n<li>Making a dollar menu by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #3366ff;\"><strong>adapting<\/strong><\/span> to consumer marketing habits in the low economic environment.<\/li>\n<li>Direct competing with their competitor (Starbucks vs. McCoffee, Dairy Queen vs. McFlurry) .<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"McTwitt\" src=\"https:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7020\/6758497155_7c36309158_o.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"322\" height=\"322\" \/><\/div>\n<p>The differences between Twitter and McDonalds lies in their product, as Twitter is an online service for a community and McD is offering tangible products.\u00a0Twitter has gained strong foundation by having thousands of Followers all around the world.<em><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Twitter is currently in the position which McD would like to achieve, while McD is leading in branding which Twitter should aim to achieve.<\/span><\/strong><\/em> It needs to make itself attractive. It needs to <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">CONVERT<\/span> netizens into &#8220;buying&#8221; Twitter.\u00a0How?<\/p>\n<p>I recommend Twitter to adopting strategies in reversal of McD&#8217;s\u00a0successful\u00a0branding strategies. Twitter should be &#8220;all over the corner&#8221;, &#8220;recongnised by everyone&#8221; like McDonalds.
