My aim for this poem was to write a fast moving poem (can you read it in one breath, no mistakes?) that uses assonance, consonance and alliteration to tie the images together while keeping a rapid flow.
If you see me on my black bike I’ll be a brakeless blur blasting past busses my never-tired tires turning through traffic in a t-t-t-t-t-t-t-top gear greased to grift every green-light GO from south Granville to Gastown or UBC to where broadway banks berms and becomes Burrard bridging northbound where bricks click quick under disks that WHOOSH past tricks slicks dirty needle pricks and party-prepped chicks up Main with eyes wild and wet from wind-whipped tears clearing spring petalled peaks like Queen E park in a few pedal pushes because those wheels just won’t whirl so fast when you’re wan weak and withering away in a wheelchair.

Note to self: “withering” could be “wilting”, “because” could be “’cause”
