ENGL 301 is intended to engage students with communicative practices in business and professional environments. This will include formatting abstracts, proposals, applications, reports and engaging with telecommunications such as email and networking. To gage with class material, students will be expected to work independently and collaboratively with students and the instructor to meet course objectives.

This course will be divided into four units with three lessons per unit. In addition to weekly lessons, there will be three main writing assignments and smaller assignments throughout the course of the term.

My expectations for this course are to be able to understand, comprehend, and write formal documents which will be of great importance in a professional work environment. I am looking to apply course work to a professional setting in future career prospects as communication via email, reports, and proposals are becoming more efficient in correspondence.
