The question is that ‘If the United Nations was fully funded why would we need the Arc or social enterprise?’Before reading some resources, It may be confused to us.However,after browsing given links, I find out that it is necessary for us to need social enterprises to create good connection between businesses and community.

Basically, some programs like Arc Initiative,which is hosted by Sauder business school, are a good channel for students to understand the experience and challenges of social entrepreneurs such as Ethiopia’s founder Salem Kassahun and Ecocalzer’s John Jairo Pizaro. By understanding their business models, students can gain the knowledge of creating social value in a firm, how to help developing countries and improve the company at the same time.

Besides, social enterprises also benefit the whole community, and what they should do is not only offer financial help to the people in need. Firms can experience a lot by building relationship with other industries and improve their own strategy. Students who take part in programs like Arc Initiative can learn some useful skills in operating social enterprises and broaden their vision .

This news shows us that Lebron James, who is a famous NBA player returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers in July and improve the economy of Cleveland. More people are willing to purchase NBA tickets and the team attracts more investors. I think this phenomenon is a kind of celebrity effect because NBA is not only an American basketball association but also a business. NBA has its own business model and absorbs many investments and earn profits in many ways. The tickets market mainly targets at fans of NBA., and it is easy to build customer relationship for it by social media , magazines or newspapers. At the same time, the state where the team has famous players will earn more profits because besides the tickets, the stores can also sell some related goods such as T-shirts and shoes that players wear. As a matter of fact, Lebron James is like an advertisement and has a big effect on the local market,which brings many investments and improve the living standards of local people.

In general, NBA’s famous players is one part of the NBA’s business model and can benefits both local economy and NBA.

This blog shows that rich countries should encourage immigration and absorb some young people from developing countries like countries in South Africa.

This is a good idea because aging problem is serious in developed companies , and they need more human resources. Absorbing some immigrants can help solve this problem.

However, immigration is not a good way to local elder people because they are still faced with living problems because some families’ young couple do not have ability to support their parents. In this case, I think besides absorbing more immigrants, businesses should take responsibility to help solve this social problem. They can hire old people to do some easy and simple work in the firm and offer them wages , and at the same time, they can let young workers  do more important and hard jobs . In this case, the firm can run better because they have more organized system and also create shared value for the old in the society.

From this blog we can know that social issues are more serious now, and the government and local businesses should take responsibility for them.

From Tianya’s blog about “This is what a SUCCESSFUL Entrepreneur Needs to Do” ,we can see that she shows a good example that Mark Zuckerberg learns to speak mandarin to expend the market of Facebook .

This is a good example because Tianya combines it with the knowledge which we learned in class. Facebook is well-known all over the world but the Chinese government set up some regulations so that Facebook cannot be used in the mainland of China. This is the weakness  of the company’s SWOT. To solve this problem, Zuckerberg wants to build a relationship with Chinese customers through learning mandarin.

Tianya also shows that Zuckerberg also made a speech in Tsinghua University to make a communication with young people, who are the main customer segments of Facebook. In this case, the CEO can catch the opportunity of marketing expansion to improve the company.

Therefore, Tianya’ s blog shows us that a successful entrepreneur should focus on the company’s issues and find the best solution to solve it even by himself. I believe this is an important reason that Facebook can make a big success today.

I read the post ‘Apple and its new problem’ from ZhongZhuoli’s blog. I want to make some comments.

Julie just highlighted that Apple is faced with a big problem.However, we should consider about other factors.Apple’s products always catch everyone’s sight. Some people support them while other people attack them. We can call this phenomenoneyeball economy. When iPhone 6 come out,  everyone pay their attention on it.  If one customer says it will be bent in the pocket, all the people will know that and spread the word.

Eyeball economy is not always good for companies. Some brands which are not very popular catch the customers or media’s attention because of some issues, but customers are not willing to buy them. However, some famous brands like Apple which has good relationships with customers can get more attention because some competitors always try to attack it. In this case, people also want to buy Apple’s products ,and even more people will buy them because people think they are popular and it is fashionable to own them.

So,It is good that Julie pointed out the Apple’s problrm,but we cannot  justify some phenomenon from only one aspect. There are many factors related to one problem.

A tribal park is set by Tsilhqot’in on October 4th in Vancouver.This tribal park is set to protect culture heritage and ecological values and the it is stopped the large-scale industrial mining.This action definitely protect the rights of natives.They will have their own place to protect their belongings.Besides,people will get the licence if they want to go to tribal park.

However,this kind of protection has effects on Taseco,a Canadian mining company.It focuses on operation and development on mines in BC.The mine site is now inside the tribal park area and natives are opposed to mine.So,Taseco ‘s new 1.1 billion project will be stopped or postponed.

For the business model canvas ,many parts will be influenced.Firstly,it will lose some of the value propositions because in the past, It is convenient for Taseko to get the mine with low cost.On the contrary, It make invest more to get the mine from other places.So at the same time,the cost structure will change.Moreover,it cannot conduct its new project now so its key activities are prohibited by natives and some key partners before may not be willing invest Taseko continuously. As a result,this tribal park will have a big effect on Taseko’s business model canvas.

Alibaba,a Chinese e-commerce company settled on New York as the venue for its IPO on Sept 18th .Surprisingly, it made a big success and MaYun, who founded Alibaba,has become the richest man in China.

Alibaba’s idea comes from ebay and Ma caught this choice to open the online shopping market in China.I think that there are some reasons that make Alibaba so successful today.

Mass market:China is a quiet big market for online shopping because of the large population in China and for people who don’t have much time to go shopping.Online shopping is a good choice

Low price:Alibaba use a website called Taobao to let sellers to open their online shops to sell products.These products are often much cheaper than the same thing in the shopping mall because there are no middle men.So consumers prefer it.

Combining other services:Alibaba is creative that it also has a platform to provide a personal banking account called Zhifubao.By using this,people can transfer their money from bank and use it to pay .They will also gain interest,higher than they can get from bank.

Hi ,I browsed some news online and I want to share some information about ‘who should pay for maternity leave’ about business ethnic.It is important that we should support paid leave because mothers have to take a rest for their babies.However,it may have some influences on companies’ economic and stakeholders will not choose to pay for maternity leave because of this.What’s more,male workers will not face this kind of problem so it may be a little unfair.In a company,what the manager always put first is the company’s interest.In my opinion,the company should pay for the maternity leave because the company should be more kind to its employees though mothers’ leave may have bad effects on economics.I believe that this bad influence is slight .If the company support paid leave,female workers will be appreciated and they will be more motivated and willing to work for their companies.To a great extent,the interest of the company will be better in the long term .So I agree that the company should support paid leave.

Hi,I  browsed business news and I want to share you some information about Fire phone of Amazon.I got the news from ‘NewYork Times’.Amazon decides to charge only  ninety-nine percents basically giving it away if users signed a two-year contract.It is a choice that can attract buyers.Fire phone has great hardware and cheap price,so some people will choose it.However,it cannot dominate market because it is not a attractive smartphone compared with iPhone or Galaxy.Amazon will burn a lot of money to do this,I do not think many people will choose it but it is really a big action for Amazon.

Online shopping is becoming more popular in contemporary society because it’s low price and convenience.
