Overall Discussion

The title of this blog “The Oil We Eat” has an underlining meaning of how there is a fossil fuel consumption behind each food we eat. We don’t often think about how the food we eat is produced, where it comes from and how much energy was used to produce it. The fact is that there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes. Wheat being one of the most popular used product for different types of foods is associated with tonnes of fossil fuels being consumed for cultivating crop fields. Other products that export their food, uses a lot of fuel for delivery via airplane.

Some ways you can reduce the fuel used in the world is buying products locally or even growing them yourself. With having a garden in my back yard, my family doesn’t have to spend that much money on food items. It accomplishes 2 things; cuts down on delivery and fuel costs, and helps sustain the earth. By having more households with their own garden, it allows the world to grow to becoming a sustainable and healthy global environment.
