You might know him as the man behind the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prisonexp.org\/\">Stanford Prison Experiment<\/a>, and the narrator of the educational television series, <em>Discovering Psychology<\/em>. For the record, I&#8217;m only mildly obsessed with his book, <em>The Lucifer Effect<\/em> &#8211; an absolutely brilliant discussion of his experiment, accompanied by an almost-philosophical musing upon the goodness and evil humans have a capacity for. All in all, a rather fascinating, albeit disconcerting read. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lucifereffect.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mary\/files\/2009\/11\/zimbardo-194x300.jpg\" alt=\"The Lucifer Effect\" width=\"194\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-516\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mary\/files\/2009\/11\/zimbardo-194x300.jpg 194w, https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mary\/files\/2009\/11\/zimbardo.jpg 324w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 194px) 100vw, 194px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;and that is my book update for the moment; I&#8217;ve been falling behind on my literary recommendations, mea culpa.
