{"id":30,"date":"2011-11-16T11:07:56","date_gmt":"2011-11-16T18:07:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/maxwellma\/?p=30"},"modified":"2011-11-24T09:24:47","modified_gmt":"2011-11-24T16:24:47","slug":"30","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/maxwellma\/2011\/11\/16\/30\/","title":{"rendered":"Employee Benefits!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Although prospective employment opportunities in our relevant fields of study may seem far-fetched to many first year Sauder students, it is interesting to take a look at which firms are offering the best employee benefits in the market!<\/p>\n<p>Marlene Habib, a Globe and Mail columnist, reported on firms that are offering \u201coffbeat incentives\u201d to employees. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ceridian.ca\/en\/about\/profile-corporate.html\">Ceridian Canada<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lorealparis.ca\/_en\/_ca\/home\/index.aspx\">L\u2019Oreal Canada<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.molsoncanadian.ca\/en\/Index.aspx\">Molson Coors Canada<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rbc.com\/country-select.html\">RBC<\/a>, selected out of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadastop100.com\/national\/\">Canada\u2019s Top 100 Employers<\/a>, are the few Marlene chose that had the best, but seemingly odd, benefits that may top some of our wildest expectations.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a brief overview of what Marlene reported for each of listed firms:<\/p>\n<p><em>Ceridian Canada\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The HR solutions firm offers pet insurance, in which the company will pay up to 80% of employees\u2019 veterinarian fees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>L\u2019Oreal Canada\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attracts \u201cGeneration Y\u201d workforce by sending employees to international development seminars in France and New York<\/li>\n<li>Offers employees daycare services and short summer Friday hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Molson Coors Canada\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Company developed the Molson Beer Academy<\/li>\n<li>Program that helps foster employees to appreciate the company\u2019s product and brand by hosting events such as Love of Beer Day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Royal Bank of Canada<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Selects 700 employees, who have saved up \u201cpoints\u201d within the company, to go on a cruise<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>More on the article here:<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/report-on-business\/careers\/top-employers\/top-employers-2012\/foosball-bah-employers-dangle-offbeat-incentives\/article2193170\/<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Although prospective employment opportunities in our relevant fields of study may seem far-fetched to many first year Sauder students, it is interesting to take a look at which firms are offering the best employee benefits in the market!
