CURE Courses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>MICB 471 &#8211; &#8220;Wet lab&#8221; experimental research\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"> experience<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The wet lab CURE will be offered in 22W in both term 1 and \u00a0term 2.\u00a0 This one term course will offer projects related to synthetic biology, molecular microbiology, and applied environmental microbiology\/functional genomics.\u00a0 We will also offer immunology projects in term 1, however, these projects will be capped at 12 students and assigned by random draw at the start of term in September.\u00a0 Defined project areas (i.e. seed research papers) for MICB 471 term 1 and MICB 471 term 2 will be posted at this blog later in the summer and late style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>MICB 475 &#8211; &#8220;Dry lab&#8221; experimental research <span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">\u00a0experience<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The dry lab CURE will be offered in 22W term 2 only.\u00a0 Students in this one term course will conduct novel investigations of publicly available amplicon sequencing data sets produced through microbiome studies.\u00a0 Students will access a server and use the QIIME2 bioinformatics pipeline to process their data.\u00a0 Using principles of microbial ecology, students will address their unique research questions via
