An intricately crafted yet unassuming strong-box, Bilbo’s Chest of Golden Treasures held his spoils from the Battle of The Five Armies. Empty now, except for the weight of Bilbo Baggins’ refusal to accept his entire 1/14th share of Smaug’s hoard. The unassuming chest remains a reminder of Bilbo’s outstanding humility and humbleness. Captured on parchment with graphite, the delicate hinge, intricate trimming, and complex locking mechanism entail professional craftsmanship.
