Doug is a new teacher in the Langley School District. He is a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Education program at the University of British Columbia. He is currently teaching Social Studies 11 as a part-time teacher within the highly recognized outdoor education program- The Edge Academy at Walnut Grove Secondary School. Doug is an experienced practitioner of inquiry and reflection early in his career and prides himself in breaking the conventions of the traditional classroom. He is recognized by other educators as a fearless teacher, constantly exploring the latest pedagogical theories in his classroom. Doug’s passion towards experiential learning is reflected in almost 10 years of outdoor education experience. He also believes in meaningful technology and innovation in schools to enhance the student-learning experience. He is a Google Certified Teacher, a frequent presenter at professional development events, and a life-long learner. He is an active member of the online teaching community, partaking in educational dialog and sharing pedagogical practices. Doug is a committed to educator and a proven credit to the profession.
