He is a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Education program at the University of British Columbia. He is currently teaching Social Studies 11 as a part-time teacher within the highly\u00a0recognized outdoor education program- The Edge Academy at Walnut Grove Secondary School. Doug is an experienced practitioner of inquiry and reflection early in his career and prides himself in breaking the conventions of the traditional\u00a0classroom. He is recognized by other educators as a fearless teacher, constantly\u00a0exploring the latest pedagogical theories in his classroom. Doug&#8217;s passion towards experiential learning is reflected in almost\u00a010 years of \u00a0outdoor education experience. He also\u00a0believes in meaningful technology and innovation in schools to enhance the student-learning experience. He is a Google Certified Teacher, a frequent presenter at professional development events, and a life-long learner. He is an active member of the online teaching community, partaking in educational\u00a0dialog and sharing pedagogical practices.
