Anxious, nervous, excited, these are the feelings I felt as I took the bus to UBC on the first day of school. As I sat on the skytrain followed by the bus, on my hour and a half commute, my mind raced at all the possible scenarios that would soon unfold. How would the teachers be? Would I make new friends? How would the course load be?
Entering my first class of the day I witnessed lots of nervous and excited faces just like mine. The professors told us to all dance to the song happy to shake away our nerves. Everyone seemed unsure as this was the first time meeting one another. We then stood in a circle, introduced ourselves, and mentioned three words that we were feeling. Almost everyone in the class said nervous and excited which is exactly how I felt. The professors seem very nice and it is helpful to talk with peers about something we are all passionate about.
I can’t wait to see what the year has in store!
