My leaf is from the forest on campus. One of the first days of school we did an outdoor education seminar in the forest on campus. During this session we had to find a tree to talk with, hug, and relate to for 10 minutes. Last week, in another class we went back to the forest and I visited my tree. Underneath the tree was a single big beautiful leaf. Around the whole forest there was no leaves on the ground. There wasn’t even any trees with leaves on them. I thought it was special that the tree had a wonderful large single leaf beneath it. I wonder where did this leaf come from? Why did it land underneath my tree? My tree is sheltered by lots of trees. I think that it is pretty incredible that my tree was the only one in an entire forest with a big beautiful leaf under it. Maybe my tree was thanking me for being so kind to it by showing me the beauty of nature. Either way, I am happy I got to visit the forest again and experience nature in such a personal way.
