I am a lover; a lover of God, a lover of life, and a lover of people. I believe that the only way to overcome the darkness both in the world, and in our hearts, is to learn to be loved, and to love.
Strangely enough, to this end, I have ventured into unchartered territory, also known as “The Sciences”. I remember so clearly the day in high school when I confidently told my math teacher that this end of the academic spectrum was of no use to me, because I wanted to be a missionary. Oh, the arrogence of youth. Here I am, a few years later, having traveled south, east, and back to Supernatural BC, knee deep in chemistry, biology and nutrition. Math is next.
After much seeking- I discovered that to have a practical way with which to extend love and service is crucial. I am here at UBC to become trained in Nutrition and Maternal Health with the hopes of being able to share it in areas of the world that suffer lack in these areas. I love people- I love family, I love children, and I believe in it. I believe that it is an expression of beauty. My dream is to live in the current of bringing new life into the world and contributing to the nourishment of the hearts and bodies of mothers and children around the world.
In short, this is a piece of who I am. On a journey of discovery, ( as well as on a street called Discovery) of the light that overpowers the darkness. Of DNA and its journey towards tangibility. Of the dynamic eqilibrium between acids and bases. Of the microvilli that absorb nutrients. Of a God who is alive.
