Hi Trista,
I did not know that you could make an audio presentation such as this on Flip Grid so thank you for sharing this resource with us. You did a great job and I really liked how you critically thought about the items in your bag and whether or not they are relevant or necessary in your newly imagined digital “bag.”
Thanks for your reply, Erin! I’ve had students submit audio on Flip Grid, but I never understood how. I was excited to try it and now know how it can be a great option for students too. Thank you for your positive feedback, much appreciated!
I haven’t used Flip Grid before. I’m inspired!
Hi Jade! Definitely check it out! There is a bit of a learning curve on the backend, but thankfully lots of great YouTube videos to help. It’s an amazing resource for student engagement.
Hi Trista,
I had the same thought as Erin and didn’t realize that Flip Grid offered this type of presentation tool. Thanks for sharing something new. I like how the audio button pulses to indicate sound playing, however I found the grandeur of the movement and constant pulsing eventually became somewhat irritating. The use of graphics definitely enhances the presentation and entices the audience to focus on the presentation rather than wander off while listening.
You mentioned that you created a script for this activity, which I agree provides a more succinct and organized method of relaying information. I know how taxing it can be to edit audio and how critical we can be with ourselves, therefore the script writing process is definitely an important skill that can be taught when developing this form of audio presentation.
You mention the diversity of tools in your conclusion and can resonate with your thoughts on this. Although as an educator I find it challenging to keep up to date with the latest tools, it is important that we offer a variety of tools to our students to meet the needs of our diverse learners.
Thanks for your comment, Liana!
I can absolutely agree with you on feeling irritated with the pulsing audio button. I’ve felt this way when students have used it, especially when I didn’t ask them LOL.
Thank you for saying that about the script. This definitely helped me to feel more planned.
I used to feel that way about educational tools, but I think something I’ve learned is that no matter what tool we use the purpose behind it needs to stay at the forefront of our minds.
Thanks again!
