Seven Generations for Wood is a Master’s Thesis project developed by Kaia Nielsen-Roine (currently a PhD student) which looks at the re-use of wood coming out of demolished housing in Vancouver. Based on this research we are currently creating a guidebook for construction of light wood frame out of wood waste that is de-constructable and without any plastic or nails.
Kaia is continuing her research in her PhD developing wood insulation using waste wood and bio-based binders.
