When your instructor has you use LockDown Browser, during the assessment you will be unable to print or copy questions, visit other websites, access other applications, or close the assessment until it is submitted. Quizzes and exams created for use with LockDown Browser cannot be accessed with standard browsers<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Chromebook and other mobile devices do not work with LockDown Browser at UBC<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"random-accordion-id-922\" class=\"accordion-shortcode  \">\n<h3 ><a href=\"#how-do-i-use-lockdown-browser-0\" ><b><\/b><strong>How do I use Lockdown Browser?<\/strong><b><\/b><\/a><\/h3><div id=\"how-do-i-use-lockdown-browser-0\" class=\"accordian-shortcode-content \" ><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>For windows or Mac<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/download.respondus.com\/lockdown\/download.php?id=695714529\">lockdown Browser download Page<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Install Now<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. These steps will include finding where the file has downloaded and running the installation wizard<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><!-- #random-accordion-id-922end of accordion shortcode -->\n<div id=\"random-accordion-id-166\" class=\"accordion-shortcode  \">\n<h3 ><a href=\"#take-a-lockdown-browser-assess-1\" ><strong>Take a LockDown Browser assessment in Canvas<\/strong><\/a><\/h3><div id=\"take-a-lockdown-browser-assess-1\" class=\"accordian-shortcode-content \" ><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you see \"Requires Respondus LockDown Browser\" next to a quiz name in Canvas, you will need to use LockDown Browser to take the quiz \/ exam.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recommendation: Take any timed quizzes or exams on a desktop or laptop computer, as they are more reliable than using the iPad app.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Close all programs on your device, unless you are using one to connect to the internet.\n<ol>\n<li>If you are using an iPad, make sure the LockDown Browser app is also closed to start<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Log in to your Canvas course with your regular browser, and click\u00a0<strong>Quizzes\u00a0<\/strong>in the Course Navigation<\/li>\n<li>Click the\u00a0<strong>name<\/strong>of the quiz you want to take<\/li>\n<li>Once you click the name, LockDown Browser should automatically launch\n<ol>\n<li>If LockDown Browser does not automatically launch, open LockDown Browser manually, log in to your Canvas course, and re-access the quiz<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>If prompted by LockDown Browser to close a blocked program (e.g., screen capture, instant messaging), choose\u00a0to close the process or application<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Take the Quiz\u00a0<\/strong>or\u00a0<strong>Begin<\/strong>, whichever you see<\/li>\n<li>Complete the assessment<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Submit Quiz\u00a0<\/strong>or\u00a0<strong>Submit<\/strong> (whichever you see)\u00a0when you arrive at the end<\/li>\n<li>You can close LockDown Browser<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><!-- #random-accordion-id-166end of accordion shortcode -->\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LockDown Browser is a web browser that \u201clocks down\u201d what you can do during a quiz or exam in Canvas.
