Literature Review Assignment <\/b><\/h2>\n

This assignment should document your group\u2019s review of the literature related to your research problem. Identify primary research articles that are relevant to your research, then taking brief notes on each article, summarizing and synthesizing previous research. Your literature review (including <\/span>5-8 articles<\/i><\/b>) will be included in your final research proposal.<\/span>Your literature review should be at most <\/span>750<\/b> words long.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In your literature review keep the following in mind:<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Include as many primary sources as possible<\/span>;<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Limit your secondary sources to at most two<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Your literature review should be organized logically by topic, rather than by author;<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. The literature review should relate previous studies explicitly to the research problem or methods;<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Your review should provide a logical basis for your research and help establish the significance of the research.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    You can use the following criteria for evaluating your literature review:<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

    1. Should adequately cover previous research on the topic and<\/span> cite actual findings from other studies<\/span>.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Should be up-to-date.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Should analyze as well as summarize previous studies.<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. Should be organized logically by topic, not by author.<\/span><\/li>\n
    5. Should relate previous studies explicitly to the research problem or methods.<\/span><\/li>\n
    6. Should provide a logical basis for the hypothesis.<\/span><\/li>\n
    7. Should establish a theoretical framework for the problem.<\/span><\/li>\n
    8. Should establish the significance of the research.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The scoring rubric for literature review parallels these criteria, that is, your group will receive two full points depending on the degree to which the literature review meets each of these criteria.<\/span><\/p>\n
