About Matt

Born in the lands of the Luiyan Indigenous Peoples in Taiwan, I, alongside my family, have been uninvited settlers in lands of the Luiyan, Basai, Ketagalan, Babuza, and Hoanya for eight generations. Around three decades ago we moved to the lands of the Halkomelem people in New Westminster, and I am now residing in the lands of the Tsawwassen, Katzie, Semiahmoo, Kwantlen, and the Halkomelem speaking peoples.

I teach several courses such as Chemistry 11, Science 10, Science 8, and Theory of Knowledge, an introductory epistemology course for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program in the Delta School District. I’m also active as an union member, representing Delta teachers at Representative Assemblies of the BC Teachers’ Federation where teachers from all over the province gather to propose, debate, and vote on policy.

ETEC 540 is my tenth and final MET course, and this has been a great journey in picking up various tools and philosophies to apply to my practice.
