My time at the high school in which I did my practicum, it was a wonderful experience and great way to apply everything I have learned in life. Teaching in general is a very personal and a process in which you are always learning. I found myself learning about all the students and learning about class dynamics. It was interesting seeing a class first thing in the morning and later in the day see the same course taught differently because of the time of day. That was one aspect in which I over looked. I found myself on a daily basis keeping up with interests of the students such as sports, shows and important events that happen ever day.
I assisted with the band concerts that were being held at the school. I brought some students from the power technology class to help with lights, sound and set up of the concerts. Since there was no stagecraft program, I volunteered to bring one out just as a volunteer basis. Many students were excited and wanting to learn how the lights and sound work.
It was a strange feeling walking into the staff room and talking to the teachers. It took a few days to adjust to that. Its a different view on education, since being a student for so long. It is interesting seeing and being apart of the other side of education.
