Apple Watch
Apple has recently unveiled 3 products: The iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus and the Apple Watch. The iPhones will undoubtedly do well but I believe the Apple Watch won’t be such a success for a few reasons.
First, looking at the trends of the size of screens recently, which is getting bigger and bigger with each new phone released, the Apple Watch would be going completely opposite to that. Very few people are going to bother trying to fiddle with their tiny watch screen and twist knob trying to read updates and look through apps when they could just pull out their phone and do the same thing with a percentage of the effort.
Next, nobody in the younger generation, the people that would actually consider buying this, wear watches for any functional purpose. When people want to know what the time is they pull out their phone, not look at their watch. Watches are solely used as an accessory, to show class, style and to make a fashion statement. They know when they go out and buy a watch that in 20 years the value of that watch won’t have decreased, it’ll be worth more than what they paid for it. An apple watch will decrease in value very dramatically, just because technology changes so fast, making that watch basically worthless in 3-5 years.
I think the Apple Watch was a poor decision for Apple and they won’t get the return they thought they would after releasing this product.
