Fast food: Or is it?
The main reason people go to McDonalds is to get a quick meal while they’re in a hurry. Nobody ever expects quality food because they know they’re not going to get it. In The Franchise King’s blog on McDonalds he states that fast food restaurants in general, especially McDonalds, are just not producing food fast enough. The drive-through lines are so long that it can barely even be considered fast food anymore. He states the main reason for this is because there are too many options to order from.
I agree with his statement of fast food not being fast enough anymore. The main value proposition McDonalds has is its fast food, without it they have very little. The difference in time between getting McDonalds and quality food is just not enough to make it justifiable anymore.
I think a business needs to corner this market. They could offer a small menu of something like a hamburger, cheese burger, double hamburger, and double cheese burger, with fries and a drink. Only making one type of food is much more efficient, and will allow the company to focus on adding quality and healthiness to its burgers as well. I believe being faster, with a healthier and higher quality product will be very attractive to potential customers and would make a very successful business.
