About

Yeah, “Microbiology & Immunology Student Association” is a mouthful for even us to say, so we like to call ourselves MISA. We represent all undergrads in the various specializations offered by the Department of Microbiology and Immunology (M&I). Basically, we’re a group of students working for and with other M&I students to serve needs and interests that matter to us.

We have a close relationship with the Department, so we liaison between them and our student body. And what’s a liaison without two sides, right? That’s why we’re totally open to you coming to us and speaking your mind. We’ll tactfully pass on your opinions, concerns, etc. to higher ups who need to hear it.

Did you know we’re also an academic club? That means from year-to-year we may offer services and resources like:

  • Tutoring and unofficial advising,
  • Undergraduate research and graduate school info sessions
  • Midterm and final review packages for courses relevant to our program.
But like every classy mullet, we have a party in the back! Some events we have had in the past and may plan in the future are:
  • Welcome Back BBQ
  • Year-End Banquet
  • Movie Nights
  • Varsity Games
  • Paintball
  • LAN Parties
  • Ski Trips
  • Your feasible and relatively popular suggestion here!
You can look forward to an exciting year with MISA in 2011/2012!
