Today we went over the homework questions on “Appointment with Love” and each group presented their answers. We had the rest of the class to work on our skits.

Hi everyone,

Today we went over the 7 homework questions on the short story “On seeing …April Morning” and started talking about compare and contrast paragraphs.

Homework:

We discussed 3 possible comparison ideas such as “desire to find true love”, “experience of internal conflict” and “not judging a book by its cover”. Please choose ONE of the 3 and find 2 examples from each story.

Hi class,

Today we talked about some literary analysis terms such as plot, conflict, setting, and symbolism. The class had lots of time to work on the irony skits.

For homework:

Finish the 6 questions on “Appointment with Love”, I will be collecting it on Wednesday.

  • Refer to your list of literary terms and answer the follow questions in full sentences:
    1. In 4-6 sentences, tell me the plot of the story.
    2. Was there a conflict in the story? If so, which kind and why?
    3. Where does the setting of the story take place?
    4. Characterize John Blandford and Hollis Meynell. Write 4-5 sentences describing each character (their appearance, personality etc.)
    5. Which point of view was the story told from? How do you know?
    6. Are there any symbols in the story that you noticed?
