Profile
Get to know me!
I had been attracted to dietetics for several years prior to my application. I was first introduced to this field after my cousin was accepted into the program in 2011. Upon being exposed to her course material, I was instantly intrigued to learn more about the scope of dietetics. The several years following drove me to thoroughly researching the profession, connecting with local dietitians and navigating my way towards the dietetics program at UBC.
This field is rapidly expanding and it is important, as dietitians, to keep up with the ever-growing body of knowledge and provide sound guidance to patients and clients. As a dietitian, I want to be an educator regarding evidence-based nutrition and preventative medicine and to ultimately help clients reach their goals and avoid preventable chronic illnesses in the future. I look forward to the future of dietetics and its role within the interdisciplinary health care teams in Canada.
Aside from food & nutrition, I’m interested in space movies & documentaries, dinosaurs, hiking, rock climbing, and spending time with my family. I hold a part time job at Williams-Sonoma, and teach kids’ cooking classes at The Dirty Apron Cooking School in the summer.
