Letter of Application

Dear Classmates:

As an English minor from Duke and the author of a software training guide, I have the ability to write in a variety of contexts. Given this experience, I am prepared to contribute to any team as a writer, editor and teammate.

I don’t want to spend too much time reiterating the general details of my interests; my biography page better provides them than I can manage in this space. It suffices to say that I have many interests and the ability to work on many different topics. More specifically, my experience in my Digital Writing class at Duke is well-suited to this environment. I managed to be creative in adapting my writing to various formats such as audio-only and augmented-reality games. Given the challenge of adapting material to complicated formats, it is now relatively easy for me to write in a more traditional manner.

Furthermore, I am committed to reliability in my work, and you will always be able to trust me to be ready with the next assignment. As a second degree student, I have many years of practice with deadlines and due dates, and I would not have been able to make it this far without this reliability. That said, because my schedule is particularly crowded throughout the first summer term, I can only promise that my work will be completed by the deadline. If you are the sort of person who likes everything to be done well before the deadline, working with me may not be for you. Otherwise, I can promise quality work while adhering to a just-in-time philosophy, which according to my short experience in a manufacturing workplace is a very desirable trait.

If you would like to work with me on this project, you can contact me at mjzimmermann@outlook.com. I hope to have a great term working with you.

Sincerely,

Michael Zimmermann
