The aim of this Special Issue, \u201cTowards a Sustainable Future through Innovative STEM Education\u201d is to provide understanding on how innovative STEM education can engage and empower students towards sustainability in a changing world.<\/p>\n<p>This Special Issue will especially focus on novel ways (e.g., pedagogical solutions and models) to promote sustainability through formal, non-formal, and informal education from early childhood to post-secondary school as well as in pre-service and in-service teacher education. The exploration of the STEM and sustainability education nexus will allow the exploration of topics relevant to many 21st century educators. For example, to address such questions as:<\/p>\n<p>How can STEM education contribute to solving sustainability issues (e.g., climate change and the COVID crisis)?<\/p>\n<p>How can we educate students to solve real-life problems using STEM knowledge in a sustainable way?<\/p>\n<p>How can innovative technologies help us in the context of sustainable STEM education?<\/p>\n<p>How can we educate future STEM teachers and teachers to incorporate sustainability issues in their teaching practices?<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Dr. Maija Aksela<br \/>\nProf. Dr. Marina Milner-Bolotin<br \/>\nDr. Sakari Tolppanen<br \/>\n<em>Guest Editors<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>Manuscript Submission Information<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Manuscripts should be submitted online at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/\">www.mdpi.com<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/user\/register\/\">registering<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/user\/login\/\">logging in to this website<\/a>. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.<\/p>\n<p>Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
