{"id":1176,"date":"2012-06-24T20:52:00","date_gmt":"2012-06-25T03:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mongolia\/?p=1176"},"modified":"2013-06-13T12:09:36","modified_gmt":"2013-06-13T19:09:36","slug":"election-songs-of-parties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mongolia\/2012\/election-songs-of-parties\/","title":{"rendered":"Election Songs of Parties"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This year, two major political parties expanded their election campaign with music.\u00a0 The Mongolian People&#8217;s Party started with a new song, &#8220;<a title=\"We All One Mongol\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rba_fMsGnrI\">We All One Mongol<\/a>&#8221; [\u0411\u0438\u0434 \u0431\u04af\u0433\u0434 \u043d\u044d\u0433 \u043c\u043e\u043d\u0433\u043e\u043b], which includes almost all Mongolian well-known stars.\u00a0 Later the MPP projected another one, &#8220;<a title=\"Be Mongolian \" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=n_ZI0m4-Br8\">Be Mongolian<\/a>&#8221; [\u041c\u043e\u043d\u0433\u043e\u043b\u043e\u043e\u0440\u043e\u043e \u0431\u0430\u0439\u0433\u0430\u0430\u0441\u0430\u0439], which targets younger audiences.<\/p>\n<p>The Democratic Party aired its new campaign song, &#8220;<a title=\"Eternal Nation \" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fPAxdByWZxU&amp;feature=related\">Eternal Nation<\/a>&#8221; [\u04e8\u043d\u04e9 \u043c\u04e9\u043d\u0445 \u043e\u0440\u043e\u043d], sung by younger singers than the MPP approach to include representatives from all generations.\u00a0 To equalize its competition with the MPP, the DP introduced &#8220;<a title=\"Oluullaa\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-jrmFPlmDsI&amp;feature=related\">Oluullaa<\/a> &#8211; Khaluun Elgen Nutag&#8221;, which is modified a well known Mongolian patriotic song.\u00a0 The DP also starts airing the virtual version of the &#8220;<a title=\"Song of the Bell\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=d1-FfreQweo\">Song of the Bell<\/a>&#8221; &#8211; the symbolic song of the democratic transition in the late 1980s.\u00a0 Although the clip does not carry the DP symbols, the song is often related with the DP.<\/p>\n<p>All songs are refreshing, attempting to send different messages and images to different audience.\u00a0 However, smaller parties are not engaged in the costly song-making competition.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Campaign songs of major Mongolian parties. <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mongolia\/2012\/election-songs-of-parties\/\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3610,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4769,4291,307907,307911,307841,3511],"tags":[307958],"class_list":["post-1176","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-democratic-party","category-elections","category-ikh-khural-2012","category-mongolian-peoples-party","category-party-politics","category-society-and-culture","tag-mendee-jargalsaikhan-2"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mongolia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1176","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mongolia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mongolia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mongolia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3610"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mongolia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1176"}],"version-history":[{"count":8,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mongolia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1176\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1180,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mongolia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1176\/revisions\/1180"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mongolia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1176"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mongolia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1176"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mongolia\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1176"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
